Trial 1: Seedlings grown under grow lights in controlled conditions

This trial was our first test of our vermicompost under completely controlled conditions. The trays were seeded with equal amounts of seeds in identical trays. The left trays consisted of a 10:1 soil to vermicompost ratio while the right trays were the same soil without any vermicompost.

Both the left and right trays were placed side-by-side indoors in grow light units. They were given identical lighting and watering regimens throughout the entire trial.

The results, shown in the images on the right, were observed after 18 days and clearly show the benefits of vermicompost. The left trays, seeded in 10:1 soil to vermicompost ratios, showed higher seed germination rates, larger leaf area, and higher stem growth after 18 days.
